Charlotte Nonprofit Road to Hire Appoints Dedicated Volunteer and Tech Veteran Lisa Shasky as CEO

April 25, 2024 — Road to Hire proudly announces the appointment of Lisa Shasky as its new Chief Executive Officer. With a natural passion for mentorship and a steadfast commitment to Road to Hire's mission of helping young adults from underrepresented communities to achieve high-earning careers, Lisa is the ideal choice for this leadership role.

Ric Elias, founder and board member of Road to Hire, expressed confidence in Lisa's abilities, stating, "Lisa is a natural fit to lead Road to Hire’s next chapter - bringing passion and experience from the nonprofit space, a deep understanding of tech, and a proven ability to connect with and guide teams."

With over 25 years of experience in corporate settings, business operations, and technology, Lisa deeply understands the challenges faced by young adults in Charlotte, many of whom are first-generation individuals embarking on STEM careers with local employers upon completing Road to Hire's programs. Beyond her professional background, Lisa's dedication as a mentor at Road to Hire for the past five years underscores her commitment to guiding students, helping them chart their paths in life and career development.

Expressing her enthusiasm for her new role, Shasky commented, "This is truly a dream opportunity for me. Young adults in Charlotte deserve the opportunity to reach their full career potential - but too often, black and brown young adults are not getting the same chances to succeed. I’m honored to lead our amazing Road to Hire team in reshaping how Charlotte looks and feels in the future for our most marginalized communities.”

Road to Hire looks forward to Lisa Shasky's transformative leadership and unwavering dedication as the organization's new CEO.
